Scientific activity 2009
The 2009 report lists five scientific papers, nine congress communications and the team’s teaching activity. It includes the initial experimental NOTES results published in Cirugía Española, as well as work in European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Gastric closure was presented at the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery meeting in Prague and at the Spanish surgical meeting; the team also published the DVD Endoscòpia Digestiva i N.O.T.E.S. with NORMED Verlag in Hamburg.

WIDER-B 2011 report
A key source for the transition from laboratory work to clinical application. It describes full-thickness resection of a malignant colonic tumour closed with OverStitch, work on choledochoduodenostomy, cystogastrostomy and gastroenterostomy, and a prospective study with Per-Ola Park’s Swedish group. Publications include an endoscopic suturing report in Endoscopy and clinical papers in American Journal of Gastroenterology and Digestive and Liver Disease. Work was presented at DDW Chicago, EURO-NOTES Frankfurt and SGI Seoul.

WIDER-B 2012–13 report
Documents full-thickness endoscopic resection, perforation closure, gastroenterostomy and EUS-guided procedures. Publications include work in Journal of Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy; DDW presentations included gastrointestinal cancer resection “from animal experiments to humans” and colonic perforation closure following a controlled animal study. The team also presented at EURO-NOTES, SMIT Barcelona and meetings in Seoul, Boston, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Harbin.

WIDER-B 2014 report
By 2014 the programme was fully embedded in advanced endoscopy: haemostasis, perforations and fistulas, EUS, drainage, tumour resection and live demonstrations. DDW Chicago included work on endoscopic haemostasis and pancreatic diagnosis; the Society of Gastrointestinal Intervention programme included seven WIDER communications and a live demonstration from Barcelona. Armengol-Miró also took part in meetings in Pamplona, Istanbul, Prague, Harbin, Milan, Udine and Moscow.

WIDER-B 2018 report
The report combines publications from 2016–2017 with extensive international activity. Papers include work in Brain and Behavior and Oncogene, alongside clinical research in imaging and pancreatic cancer. WIDER activity appeared at SGI Seoul, ESGE Days, DDW, UEG Week, the Tokyo Masters Forum and endoscopy meetings in China and Europe. It also records EUS elastography, stenting for bariatric complications, colonic obstruction and complex therapeutic endoscopy, including live transmissions from Barcelona.
